Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a prosthetic cap that is placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and improve its appearance. The treatment process typically involves several steps. Firstly, the dentist prepares the affected tooth by removing any decayed or compromised portions. Then, an impression is taken to create a custom-fitted crown. Temporary crowns may be placed while the permanent one is being fabricated. During the final appointment, the custom crown is permanently cemented onto the prepared tooth. This treatment helps protect and strengthen the tooth, enhances its aesthetics, and restores proper function. Dental crowns are commonly used for teeth with extensive decay, fractures, or after certain dental procedures like root canals.
